Style is the romantic pairing of Stan Marsh and Kyle Broflovski. It is also known as Kyan.

It stems from the general fact that the two are best friends and have shown to care a lot for each other, with the occasional implication of either being gay. Kyle, per example, did not have a girlfriend until Rebecca Cotswolds during the third season and has yet to show little to no interest in any other female characters since then up to the current season.

Throughout the run of the series, fans of the pairing have pointed out, through images and dialogue, that the two are more then just friends or are leading into a romantic relationship. Below is a list of hints, divided between the two characters.

In "Clubhouses", Stan reads a note to the entire class (written by Bebe) reading:

"Dear Kyle.

You have got such a great ass. I could sleep for days on those perked cheeks, let me tell you. I'd like to live with you and wear your ass as a hat for all eternity." This hint is debatable though, because Bebe wrote the note specifically for Kyle, and when Stan reads it, his teeth are ground in anger.

In "Cherokee Hair Tampons", Stan, without hesitation, wanted to give Kyle his kidney "Even if it hurts a whole lot." After the doctor told him that he wasn't a match and only Cartman was, he spends the rest of the episode trying to get Cartman's kidney. Stan also cried when he was afraid that he was going to lose Kyle to death (making Kenny angry). At the end of the episode, Kyle did get the kidney he needed and Stan was by side. Kyle said, "Hey, thanks for going through all that to save my life, Stan." Stan then replies back to him, "Dude, you're my best friend. I don't want you to die until I do."
In "Quest For Ratings", when all of the boys are excited about their news show, they hug. However, Stan hugged Kyle 2 or 3 times while he didn't hug some of the other boys at all.

In "Super Best Friends", Stan tried to get Kyle out of David Blaine's cult, Blaintology. Although Kyle had no desires of leaving, Stan tried his best to get him out of the cult throughout the entire episode. He also, though briefly, tried to lead Kyle out of the dorm by the hand. In the end of the episode, Kyle was saved by Stan and the Super Best Friends. The two called each other "Super Best Friends." It should be noted that Stan only expressed great concern to Kyle and NOT Cartman or even Kenny. Cartman even asks "Do you guys want me book a room so you two can make out for a while?".

In "Two Days Before the Day After Tomorrow", Stan seems to have difficulty keeping secrets from Kyle as he told him that he and Cartman broke the dam, going against Cartman's wishes.

In "Follow that Egg!", Stan became very jealous towards Kyle about him and Wendy working together (this jealousy may have been for Wendy instead though). The two were later paired up together but tensions were still high as Stan tried to prove that he was a good parent to the egg. Although he failed, Kyle confronted him about what has happened, saying that he only wanted the A on the project and not Wendy. Stan apologizes for what he has done and learns that Kyle had the real egg. As the two were about to leave, Kyle asks him if he really thinks his hat is stupid. Stan puts his arm around Kyle's shoulders and said in a deep voice, "As a matter of fact, I think it is the nicest hat I have ever known."

In "Smug Alert!", Stan wrote a song about hybrid cars to bring Kyle and his family back to South Park. After hearing that Kyle would be in danger from the smug in San Francisco, he expressed great concern for Kyle. When Kyle was saved by Cartman and brought back to South Park, Stan, without hesitation, ran up to him and hugged him.

In "Guitar Queer-o", after he replaced Kyle and had a fight with him about it, Stan spends the remainder of the episode unhappy and having a hard time concentrating. He then tries to convince Kyle to play with him again after realizing that the reason why he was having so much fun was because he was doing it with him. Kyle angrily says that he doesn't need him anymore and Stan replies, "I know... I need you." Most Style fans on Deviantart made this their quote after the episode aired.

In "The China Probrem", Stan and Kyle both hugged and said "I love you" to each other.
In "South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut", when the parents notice them in the crowd at the USO Show, Stan tells Kyle to stand up to his mother, and when Kyle says he can't, it looks like Stan is holding the other boy's hand.
In "Imaginationland Episode II", when Kyle is being attacked by Manbearpig, Stan cries out his name.
In "Imaginationland Episode III", after when Kyle and Cartman land in Imaginationland, Stan immediately runs up to Kyle, calling his name.
In "Cartmanland", Stan was often concerned about Kyle.
In "The Biggest Douche in the Universe", Stan goes to great lengths to prove John Edward is a fake so that Kyle will go back to Colorado.
In "Manbearpig", when the cave floods and Kyle is trying to swim towards Stan and Kenny while supporting an "injured" Cartman, he and Cartman begin to sink, and even though both of his friends are in danger, Stan only voices concern for Kyle.
In "The List", after seeing his best friend upset about being placed at #16 (dead last) on a 'corrupted' list the girls made of: 'Cutest to Ugliest Boy in Class', Stan is determined throughout the entire episode to have the list changed as he does not believe this to be true either and hates to see Kyle so upset. It is speculated (but never confirmed by the South Park staff itself) that Kyle was actually placed at #5 on the real 'uncorrupted' list.

In "Toilet Paper" Once the kids get through TP-ing their teacher's house and are making their escape, kyle remains at the scene of the crime, guilt already setting in, but then stan comes back and leads him away by the hand.

In "Asspen", Kyle was worried about Stan when was about to ski on one of the most dangerous courses. The day before the competition, Kyle stated he didn't want to lose him. On the day of the competition, Kyle looked up at the mountain worried, carrying a photo of him and Stan together on a couch.

In "Fun with Veal", Kyle stayed by Stan's side as he was getting ill from not eating any meat.

In "It's Christmas in Canada", when the boys fall asleep on the helicopter to Canada to speak to the Canadian prime minister, where Cartman and Kenny are apart, Kyle and Stan are close together.

In a fake "Previously on South Park" scene at the start of "The Return of Chef", Kyle held Stan close to him when the two were watching the sun set. This scene may or may not have happened, as it is fake.

In "Imaginationland Episode III", Kyle was the only one who could hear Stan's voice when he was trapped in Imaginationland. This hint can be debatable as God, Luke Skywalker could talk to him too. Kyle also went to extreme measures such as breaking into the Pentagon to save Stan.

In "Britney's New Look", Kyle was willing to wear Britney's wig and glasses to create a diversion so Stan and Britney could get on the train. This hint can also be debatable.

In "The China Probrem", Stan and Kyle both hugged and cried in each others arms. Stan told him that he loved him in which he replied, "I love you too."
In "Bloody Mary", Kyle is the only one in the class to look over at Stan in sympathy when Stan's father was brought in due to his drunk driving. This is hint is debatable considering Kyle is Stan's closest friend.
In "Raisins", when the boys took Stan to Raisins to forget about Wendy breaking up with him, Kyle showed more interest in cheering up Stan than he did in any of the girls. Kyle is also often concerned about Stan throughout the episode. This is of course debatable since the two are best friends.
In "Follow that Egg!", Kyle is saddened by Stan saying that his hat was stupid.
In "Guitar Queer-o ", Kyle is extremely upset when he finds out Stan replaced him, which also causes a saddened Kyle to respond with, "I guess I didn't realize it was just about the points".

A debate that's been going on for a while between fans of the pairing is which of the two is the "dominant" one. Some fans say that Stan is the "dominant" one because of Kyle's compassionate personality, and that Stan is more of a "jock" and Kyle the nerd, leading the assumption that Stan to be the seme and Kyle the uke. Others see Kyle as the dominant one; more cynical and quiet with the stronger mind and more common sense, as Stan being a wuss and very sensitive, a bit dense and clueless. Nevertheless, there are fanarts and fanfictions of either of the two being the dominant one in the relationship. However, the dominant Stan is more popular with fans than the dominant Kyle.

Style is one of the most popular pairings out in the fandom especially with the female fans. There are many fanarts and fanfictions dedicated the pair on both North American and Japanese websites. However, the pairing has been rivaling with the pairings Stendy and Kyman because of recent episodes such as The List, the Imaginationland trilogy, Tonsil Trouble, and the most recent episode to date, Super Fun Time. Because of these episodes, some fans have converted to one (or both) of these pairings.
