Stendy is the pairing of Stan Marsh and Wendy Testaburger. It is one of only a handful of canonical pairings.

[edit] Canonicity

The canonicity in this pairing is very obvious. They both get together in the pilot episode Cartman Gets an Anal Probe. Stan and Wendy has been attracted to each other for quite some time.

Stan also became very shocked when Wendy kissed Cartman passionately in Chef Goes Nanners possibly because they are in a relationship. The reason of the kiss was because Wendy was attracted to Cartman and Bebe told Wendy to kiss him and it will be over. At the end of the episode Wendy said that right after the kiss all the attraction was gone. After that she caught up with Stan.

Stan also wrote a song for Wendy in Chef Aid.

In the episode Bebe's Boobs Destroy Society when the boys invite Bebe out to throw rocks at cars Wendy says 'Stan, you've never asked me to throw rocks at cars with you guys.' Stan replies with, 'That's different, dude. You're like, my girlfriend. Bebe's just... I don't know. She's just cool.' This could imply that Wendy and Stan don't spend much time around each other and Stan doesn't value Wendy all that much.

When Wendy broke up with Stan, in Raisins

, he was deeply devastated, going as far as becoming goth. He did get over it.

A picture that Wendy gave to Stan that reads "I love you forever".

He still showed some feeling to Wendy, as seen in Follow That Egg!, when he was worried over whether he and Wendy would be partners for the egg project. When Kyle ended up as her partner, Stan became intensely jealous of Kyle, believing that they were together. Wendy is also seen to have shown some feeling to Stan; when Stan and Kyle were paired together, Kyle took the egg that Wendy helped decorate. When she saw that Stan's paternal side was fine she relaxed. She was, unfortunately, rejected by Stan at the end of the episode.

They do get back together in The List, when they work together to bring down a corrupted list that crushed Kyle's ego and moral. When Stan and Wendy share a close moment at the end Stan throws up on Wendy; in a deleted scene, Wendy is shown to be smiling, since Stan vomits to show affection to females.

In Super Fun Time they are both partners. When they travel around Pioneer Village, Stan says that he would play along with 1800s theme, but he doesn't want to look like a dork in front of his girlfriend. When Stan goes to save Kenny from the terrorists, he tells Wendy to look away, as he has to role-play as an 1800s settler to save Kenny, basically appearing as a dork.

In Elementary School Musical he gets jealous of Bridon Guermo, thinking that Bridon is stealing Wendy away from him. However, when Stan goes to confront Wendy, Wendy assures Stan that "That'd be stupid. Bridon can have whatever girl he wants". Wendy then gives Stan a kiss on his cheek. This is worth noting because this is the first time Stan did not throw up, although this may have been because he was so anxious.

Wendy asks Stan if he wants to study together in Eat, Pray, Queef, but she is turned down.

In Butters Bottom Bitch when Butters asks Wendy if she wants to join his "kissing company", Stan lashes out at Butters aggressively threatening to kick his ass if he calls Wendy a bitch. Stan also listened to Wendy rant about something later but he looked bored while Wendy ranted on and on.

In Dances With Smurfs Stan heavily defends Wendy from Cartman's insults. However, Wendy seemed unaffected by Cartman's insults.

Although some Candy fans state that in Breast Cancer Show Ever, Stan seemed worried about Wendy when she was going to fight Cartman but did not do anything, as a sign of having no passion. Wendy is Stan's first girlfriend, and he is only in the fourth grade, so he may simply have no experience.

Trey Parker has stated that Stan and Wendy kissed multiple times, when asked did Stan and Wendy ever kiss? Matt Stone has stated that their love was written in the stars. Trey has even said that "they had sex but you didn't see it". Matt Stone stated that he could remember an episode where Cartman, Kenny, and Kyle were at the bus stop and that they could be seen behind a tree. This may be a joke though, as Stone also said that "If you're dumb enough to look, you deserve to lose that much of your life".

Matt and Trey have also confirmed that Stan and Wendy were always intended to be together citing that "their love is written in the stars, but the world conspires to keep them apart."

Stendy is the only child pairing that has lasted more than 1 to 2 episodes, it lasted from seasons 1 to 7 and seasons 12 to present. However, some argue that Clybe has lasted more than 2 episodes but it is difficult to prove that since their relationship is rarely brought up between the two episodes it was mentioned in. It is implied Kelley may have lasted longer as well, as Kenny is mentioned as visiting his girlfriend in Spontaneous Combustion produced and aired after her introduction in Rainforest Schmainforest.
